Hi! HimmelsgÅva was started for you! We care about you!

Came on the market 2020

We desire to share the treasure of the archipelago with you! HimmelsgÅva was registered in 2019. Corona made it an uphill start. thank you for contributing to a thriving countryside and archipelago.

Who are we?

A swedish family having moved to Brändö, Åva village. Two adults and five children. Jessica, the mother running this business, is a registered nurse and massage therapist. She has a passion for preventive medicine. It is a great joy to contribute to improved health in different ways. Be it physical, emotional, social or spiritual.

Ecological certification

Himmelsgåva is ecologically certified for growing vegetables, artisan food making, eggs and honey.

HimmelsgÅva, part of the outer Åland archipelago.

Åland is an autonomous, demilitarised, completely swedish speaking region of Finland. Åland is not just the largest island, called “Mainland Åland” where you find the city Mariehamn, but thousands of more islands. June 9. 2022 Åland celebrates 100 years of peaceful autonomy! Let´s celebrate!

Discover and enjoy the beautiful ferry journey with Ålandstrafiken´s ferries through the archipelago to our island. A fantastic voyage you can make starting for example in Stockholm, Sweden with big ferries like Viking Line to e.g. Mariehamn and then continuing with Ålandstrafiken to Finland.

HimmelsgÅva is situated on the outskirts of Åva village, Brändö municipality.

The red coloured Åland roads are like a heart overflowing with love, paving gentle ways through nature and the blue ocean. The pretty red comes from Åland´s rapakivigranite.

A loveable, welcoming, peaceful and clean nature awaits you. No highway noice, no sprayed fields. Wintertime you are surrounded by an impressive starry sky, clearly visible against the dark archipelago night sky, no competing lights from big cities here. Eagles and swans are a common sight and welcome you to this wilderness, their territory.

Good gardening climate. Most sun hours.

The sea is always close with the beneficial coastal climate. Did you know that Åland has the most hours of sun in the Nordic countries between may and august? The Åland bees enjoy living in one of earth´s last varroa free regions. It is prohibited to import bees here.

About HimmelsgÅva logo

This beautiful logo was designed by Natasha Shaw, who collaborated with her brother Daniel Pedley from Dexera Creative Agency. Thank you so much!

Jessica´s logo thoughts

Strawberry = YUMMY! We want to contribute with good quality produce, tasty products, benefitting us and nature.

The Strawberry leaves = An association to the bee´s wings and boats. The leaves are in two parts, a pair. Thoughts go to social fellowship. We need each other! It also reminds us of lips. Smile! Greet one another! We wish you wings that carry you forward, wind in your sails. The bumble bee is actually too heavy to fly, but it still works!

The Strawberry “dots” = The dots are the strawberry seeds. Even in a tiny seed there is huge power and great potential. Small steps for health, a small good habit planted, can give a huge good harvest. The dots are many, there is need for many small good things in ones life, a multitude, just like Åland has a multitude of islands, and we are on one of the dots. The dots spread joy and hope! Telling about a future and new opportunities. Just like happy freckles in a sunny face. All are valuable! Small as well as big!

The ring on top of the strawberry = Of course! The syllable Å´s ring! Åland. Åva. And if you look upon the logo as a bee it, is the bee´s head. Bees are incredibly fascinating and intelligent creatures! The ring also symbolizes the eternal and sustainability, ecological farming. Care for one another and nature. Enjoy, pause, admire and exclaim a Swedish wow: ÅÅÅ! How beautiful! How tasty!

The ring is also designed like a lifebuoy. Sometimes we come into storms, dangers threaten. Sicknesses, problems and difficulties. We need help, support, power to keep us afloat from day to day. We are christians and believe in a forgiving, loving, compassionate and personal saving God who cares for His creation and each one of us.

Himmel means heaven and gåva means gift. Åva is the name of the village.

A gift to you from the heart! The colour red stands for love. The green for the ecological growth. HimmelsgÅva is for everyone. Big and small.

DEFINITION OF ARTISAN FOOD

Himmelsgåva is a member of the Artisanal food association in Åland. Mathantverk Åland. They use the same description as Eldrimner, a Swedish resource center for artisan food.

“Artisan food making creates unique products – rich in taste, high in quality and clear in identity. Products are made primarily from local raw materials that are transformed with care, on a small scale and often in the artisan’s own farm. The hallmark of artisan food is that man’s touch and knowledge are present throughout the entire production chain. The result is healthy products with no unnecessary additives, products that can be traced back to their source. Artisan food making highlights food of tradition, develops methods further and creates innovative products”
